Houston Private Event Venues
In early 2019 I visited over 20 different venues and bars in Houston, TX. This is my first set of venues that I loved.

One of my favorite venues I visited in Houston, hearing the story and future plans for this site makes me excited to visit again. The exquisite Grand Hall and Mezzanine encased with marble floors, soaring columns and the stunning grand staircase makes this a memorable fairy-tale venue.
The history behind The Corinthian venue is exceptional, about 50 years ago this was once the home for the First National Bank, beneath the grand staircase is the original vault to the bank, I was told there are future plans to develop the lower basement level into a modern warehouse style venue utilizing the old vault space as a dining room area.
The building is on the National Register of Historic Buildings and is located in the heart of Downtown Houston. The library is absolutely stunning with very intricate detailed woodwork and exquisitely painted murals throughout the library. I visited 7 rooms all available to use as venue space, my favorite part of this building, however, is the library on the second floor and the third floor balcony showcasing the remarkable views of the ceiling.
The Astorian has an industrial chic vibe and is conveniently located in the Heights area of Houston. The venue was impeccably designed, with warm elements such as the soft lighting and wood facets paired with the modern concrete floors and rusted steel and copper fixtures. My favorite aspects of this space were the floor to ceiling windows, the views of Downtown Houston and the large bar at the entrance.
An exclusive event venue that looked like something out of a movie, the grounds are absolutely exquisite, and the staff was very helpful; this venue has it all and was my favorite by far. The interiors are stunning and authentically evoked the ambiance of Mediterranean villas in Southern Spain and Italy. The main ballroom branches off into multiple reception areas that have their own outdoor terraces. Taking the grand staircase to the second story, you will find smaller rooms that overlook each space downstairs all connected by a catwalk. Truly spectacular and a must see.
Located within the Theatre District of Houston, The Ballroom is an open floor plan venue, with floor to ceiling windows, multiple rigging locations, and two very large balconies overlooking Downtown Houston.
The venue has a very modern warehouse vibe with exposed brick walls, original glass pane windows, and two overhead cranes. The two rooms are very open with numerous possibilities.
The House of Blues is known for being a rock & blues live music venue but offers multiple rooms and endless possibilities for event space. From the exterior view of the building, it’s deceiving I was not expecting the venue to be as big as it was. I explored 7 intricately designed rooms all available to use as private venue space.
The theatre is located at the Bayou Place Entertainment Complex in Downtown Houston. The main floor can accommodate 200 to 2,400 guests within the music theatre, it also has a large stage, and Mezzanine the possibilities are endless for venue setup.
Recently renovated in the basement of the Revention Music Center is my one of my favorite venues 40 Below. When hurricane Harvey devastated Houston the lower basement had flooded and was deemed a complete loss, 40 steps below the music center is the new 40 Below venue. The space has an industrial speakeasy vibe with a beautiful bar, small stage, and various seating vignettes.
A traditional ballroom within a downtown loft building, that boasts 35-foot ceilings, crystal chandeliers, French doors, a wraparound terrace, a dance floor, and a full stage. Don’t forget to check out the hotel lobby entrance, crystal chandelier, its beautiful.
The Convention Center is ranked number 10 in the nation for the largest convention center in the U.S. with 1.8 million sqft. of usable space. It’s conveniently located on the east side of Downtown Houston and overlooks the Discovery Green and various other buildings.
Discovery Green comprises 12 acres of lush green landscape and is surrounded by the George R. Brown Convention Center, hotels, and downtown sports arenas. The park includes 2 restaurants, kids play area, man-made lake, 2 dog runs, multi-use amphitheater, and an event lawn.
